Will a Coleman Lantern that runs on camp stove fuel run on regular gasoline?

I have a duel fuel stove that runs on camp stove fuel or regular gasoline. I just bought a used lantern that is not duel fuel but is supposed to run on the camp stove fuel. I wanted to see if it would run on regular gasoline so I don’t have to buy camp stove fuel?
In the alternative, can the lantern be converted to run on both kinds of fuel?

Coleman fuel or the Wal-Mart equivalent white gas is inexpensive and comes in convenient gallon size metal containers. Unleaded gas burns too hot for a regular stove and there’s no way to convert it except to replace the inner workings.
