The Argos Fireboy is a lab-top bunsen burner with features including a battery and butane cartridges for portable usage. My lab is using these right now, as we do now have a natural gas line hooked up as of yet. The problem is these suckers really eat those little cartridges. 5.2oz isn’t even lasting a week in the hood. The fuel cans only come from France, and cost about for a 6 pack, this is ridiculous. The Fireboy comes with nozzle adapters for mixed gas and propane to be attached. I’d like to be able to get a propane regulator and a small-to-medium sized propane canister to hook up instead. the problem is I’m not sure what kind of regulator I would try to find, as I don’t know if this is even feasible.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated.
I’ve been in contact with AirGas and other commercial suppliers to get our facility hooked up with gas lines. I don’t want to have to get involved with anything too expensive for the short term, however I would like to have a reliable gas supply.
That’s why I’m interested in trying to get propane since it readily available and comes in a variety of containers. I’m just looking to know if I get a regulator of some sort(something to connect from tank to an intake nozzle) that won’t make it explode or pose any dangers.
